Who can join Outport?
Whether you’re a home-run bakery, a music festival, or a community club – If you have something you’d like to promote, we’re here to help you find your audience.
How do you define “local”?
Your business (or its main headquarters) should be located and operated in Newfoundland or Labrador.
How do you define “small”?
Industry Canada defines a “small business” as a firm that has fewer than 100 paid employees.
Are there any exceptions?
At this time we don’t accept submissions from airbnb hosts. We do not allow listings by direct sales companies (like Avon, Scentsy, and Tupperware).
Can I upgrade my membership at anytime?
Yes. If you decide you’d like to take advantage of premium features, just drop us a line and we’ll be happy to help you out. Unfortunately we’re unable to downgrade memberships after an annual payment has been taken. Contact us.
Can I edit my listing after it has been submitted?
Only Premium plan members can edit and update listings after they’ve been submitted. If you’re a Basic plan member, you can only make and delete your listing. The only exception is for typos, small errors, or to change basic information (contact details, hours of operation, etc), in which case you’ll need to contact us directly.
Which payment methods do you take?
WooCommerce comes bundled with PayPal (for accepting credit card and PayPal account payments), BACS, and cash on delivery for accepting payments.
How do I get an “Eco” badge?
In order to get an “Eco” tag, tell us how you put the environment first. This might include but not be limited to:
- Minimizing, upcycling, or composting waste materials
- Employing renewable energy sources
- Sourcing sustainable materials/products
- Avoiding toxic materials or ozone-depleting substances
- Using recyclable packaging
- Creating products that can be reparied/reused instead of discarded
- Not using or selling single-use products
- Reducing your building energy footprint
- Participating in sustainable partnerships
You don’t need to meet all of this requirements – there are lots of different ways to be green! Just send us an email with the subject “Eco Tag” and tell us how you put planet before profit.
Do you sell products/services directly through your website?
No. At the moment, we do not offer direct sales through out website. We help to connect local customers with local businesses so they can make purchases directly from the seller.
